June 6, 2025. The Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, congratulated the Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the country, Supreme Mufti Nauryzbai qajy Taganuly, as well as all Muslims of the Republic, on the occasion of Kurban Ait:
I wholeheartedly congratulate you and all Muslims of Kazakhstan on one of the most significant days in the Islamic calendar – the feast of Kurban Ait!
On this day, the mosques of the Republic proclaim the ideals of goodness, mercy, and justice. Commitment to these values forms the foundation of interethnic and interfaith harmony in our society, as well as its spiritual growth and moral strength.
Since ancient times, followers of the major confessions living in the Great Steppe have borne witness to the world of brotherly love and mutual respect – of the possibility to jointly strengthen the power of the country and defend its sacred borders.
I hope that the spirit of mutual understanding which now exists between the Orthodox Church, Islam, and other traditional religions will continue to contribute to the strengthening of unity and harmony in our common Home – Kazakhstan.
I sincerely wish you, esteemed Mufti Hazret, and all Muslims of the country health, peace, well-being, and success in good works for the good of our Fatherland!
May the Almighty help you in your further labors in the high post of spiritual leader of Kazakhstan.
