December 16, 2025 – Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, congratulated the President of the country, Kassym-Jomart Kemelovich Tokayev, on the anniversary of the proclamation of the state independence of the Republic.
“I sincerely congratulate You on the national holiday – Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan!
Since the proclamation of sovereignty, Kazakhstan has become a strong and authoritative state with a developed economy. Its people have once again gained the opportunity to openly offer prayers to God and to raise their children and grandchildren in faith.
Today, in the eyes of the international community, the Republic of Kazakhstan represents a unique example of peaceful coexistence, interethnic and interreligious harmony. Our country is the initiator of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions and serves as a platform for dialogue aimed at resolving global challenges.
In one of Your addresses to the nation, You said the following words: ‘On this day, we all deeply realize how important it is to remain faithful to the precepts of our ancestors and to assume responsibility for the future of the nation. Independence is our shared priceless heritage, which lies at the foundation of all our achievements.’
The preservation of centuries-old moral foundations, historical memory, and labor for the benefit of the Fatherland and one’s neighbor constitutes the foundation for the further prosperity of blessed Kazakhstan, its new accomplishments and victories.
On this special solemn day, I sincerely wish You, deeply respected Kassym-Jomart Kemelovich, good health, strength of spirit and blessed success in Your many-labored and responsible service to your native Kazakhstan,” the congratulatory message of the Head of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District states.
