October 25, 2024 – Republic Day of Kazakhstan. Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan extended his congratulations to President Kassym-Jomart Kemeluly Tokayev on this national holiday.
“This day is marked by a significant event in the modern history of the Republic—the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Kazakhstan in 1990. Over the years of independence, our country has laid an essential foundation for state development, creating conditions for economic growth, preserving national culture, peace, and harmony. The people of Kazakhstan have regained the opportunity to freely practice their religious beliefs, build churches and mosques, and raise the next generation in faith. Our country has shown the world a model of intercivilizational, interreligious, and interethnic dialogue.
The Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan will continue to contribute to the development of the spiritual and cultural life of our people, the preservation of traditions, and the promotion of moral values in society.
On this festive day, I wish you, esteemed Kassym-Jomart Kemeluly, strength of mind and body, well-being, and success in your service for the good of our homeland,” reads the congratulatory message from the Head of the Metropolia of Kazakhstan.
