On September 28, 2024, the Secretary of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, choir conductor of the Metropolitan District of Kazakhstan, and member of the Patriarchal Council for the Development of Russian Church Singing, O.N. Ovchinnikov, celebrates his 53rd birthday.
Oleg Nikolaevich was congratulated by the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan.
In the greeting address from His Eminence, it states:
Dear Oleg Nikolaevich, please accept my heartfelt congratulations on your birthday!
"Sing praises to our God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises" (Ps. 46:7), exclaims King and Prophet David. From a young age, you chose the path of serving God and people through the field of church music. For many years, together with the choirs you lead, you have borne witness to the heavenly beauty of Orthodoxy through majestic hymns.
For nearly fifteen years, under your leadership, the choir of the Metropolitan District has flourished in Kazakhstan, its high professionalism recognized by music connoisseurs, and the unique character of its performances beloved by the people of Kazakhstan. Alongside your work as a choir conductor and composer, you fulfill the responsible obedience of Secretary of the Metropolitan District and contribute to the Church-Public Council under the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia for the development of church singing. Your multifaceted work has been recognized with high ecclesiastical and civil awards, testifying to society's appreciation of your talents and achievements, and the enduring importance of sacred music in the moral and cultural formation of the human soul.
