December 31, 2024. The Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, extended his congratulations to Nauryzbay Kazhy Taganuly on his re-election as Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan:
“Dear Mufti Hazret,
I warmly congratulate you on your re-election as Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan and Supreme Mufti.
Today, both Orthodox Christians and Muslims share the responsibility of preserving traditional moral values, ideals of peace, mutual respect, and love for one another in society.
For centuries, followers of Islam and Christianity have lived peacefully together on the vast expanses of the Great Steppe, supporting each other, building the nation, defending their homeland, and planning a shared future. May God grant that interethnic and interfaith harmony continue to be preserved and further developed on the blessed land of Kazakhstan.
The Head of State, the esteemed Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev, notes: ‘Interfaith harmony is one of the key factors for Kazakhstan’s successful development. We are building and developing our country on the fundamental principle of unity in diversity, and thus, we confidently look to the future.’
I highly value the good relations that have developed between the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan and the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Republic. I hope that these relations will continue to flourish and grow fruitfully in the future.
I wish you robust health, inner peace, and blessed success in your new endeavors.”
