March 1, 2025. The head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, congratulated the Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan, Supreme Mufti Nauryzbay kazhi Taganuly on the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan:
I cordially congratulate you and all Muslims of Kazakhstan on the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan - a special time for all followers of Islam, filled with prayers and acts of mercy.
During this period of the year, every Muslim strives to purify himself through abstinence, to show active care for his neighbors, to help those in need, to strengthen family ties and friendly relations, which has a positive effect on the life of the whole society. The strength of the multinational and multi-confessional people of our country lies in unity, brotherly love and good neighborliness.
This year, as well as last year, the period of Ramadan coincides with the days of Lent. Muslims and Orthodox Christians - followers of the two leading historical confessions of blessed Kazakhstan - will simultaneously observe ancient rules and traditions, do especially good deeds and perform fervent prayers, including for the peace and prosperity of the Great Steppe.
The head of state, the highly respected Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev, emphasizes: "The people of Kazakhstan have absorbed the traditions of different civilizations and religions, the spirit of tolerance and openness, therefore the principle of unity in diversity is fundamental for Kazakhstan."
May, by the grace of the Almighty Creator, interfaith peace and interethnic harmony always flourish on our land, for the benefit and good of all Kazakhstanis.
I wish you, dear Mufti Hazret, and all Muslims of the Republic health, peace and prosperity!
