Protopriest Alexander (Alexander Anatolyevich Suvorov) was born on August 7, 1977, in Almaty.

In 1994, he graduated from Secondary School No. 42 in the southern capital. He graduated from music school with a specialization in piano.

Since 1991, he regularly attended the St. Nicholas Cathedral in Almaty, studied at the parish school at the church, and sang in the choir.

From April 1994 to July 1995, he served as a choir singer at the Nativity Cathedral in Almaty.

In 1995, he was admitted to the first class of the Moscow Theological Seminary. He was appointed assistant conductor of Academic Choir No. 2. In 1999, he graduated from the Moscow Theological Seminary.

On December 1, 1998, in the Ascension Cathedral of Almaty, he was ordained a deacon by Archbishop Alexy (Kutepov) of Almaty and Semipalatinsk (now Metropolitan of Tula and Efremov).

On December 1, 1998, he was appointed a cleric of the St. Peter and St. Paul Church in Almaty.

On October 9, 1999, in the St. Nicholas Cathedral in Almaty, he was ordained a priest by Archbishop Alexy.

On September 1, 2000, he was appointed a lecturer in "Dogmatic Theology" and "Patrology" at the Almaty Diocesan Theological School.

On December 2, 2002, he was appointed a cleric of the Ascension Cathedral in Almaty.

On November 18, 2003, he was appointed the sacristan of the Ascension Cathedral.

On April 5, 2004, he was appointed secretary of the Diocesan Editorial Board. On December 28, 2007, he was relieved of his duties as secretary of the Diocesan Editorial Board and appointed its member.

On December 28, 2010, he was appointed secretary of the Diocesan Council of the Astana and Almaty Diocese.

On May 1, 2010, he was appointed State Secretary of the Almaty Diocese.

On May 25, 2010, a candidate commission was organized under the Astana and Almaty Diocesan Administration, and Father Alexander was included in its composition.

On November 10, 2011, he was appointed head of the Department of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District for Relations between the Church and Society.

On September 10, 2014, he was appointed chairman of the Department of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District for Relations between the Church and Society.

In 2014, he graduated with honors from the St. Petersburg Humanities University of Trade Unions (Faculty of Law).

From October 30, 2014, to March 3, 2018, he was the responsible curator of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District for interaction with the Coordination Committee of the "Orthodox Initiative" contest.

Since December 15, 2015, he has served as secretary of the Diocesan Council of the Astana and Almaty Diocese.

On October 17, 2016, by order of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, an information and propaganda group was formed to meet regularly with the youth of Almaty. Father Alexander was entrusted with the overall coordination of specific tasks and directions.

On May 5, 2016, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan blessed Protopriest Alexander Suvorov to be the curator of projects related to anti–terrorism measures in Almaty.

On September 15, 2016, he was appointed responsible for the restoration work of the Ascension Cathedral in Almaty.

He is married and has two sons.
