Metropolitan Alexander performed the Liturgy in the Sophia Cathedral of the Southern capital with the participation of monastics from the Metropolitan District of Kazakhstan.

On August 3, 2024, the celebration of the uncovering of the relics of Saint Righteous Princess Anna of Kashin, and the commemoration day of the prophet of God Ezekiel took place.

Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan performed the Divine Liturgy in the Sophia Cathedral of the Iveron-Seraphim Convent in Almaty with the participation of monastics from the Metropolitan District of Kazakhstan.

Concelebrating with the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan were: Archimandrite Theodosius (Kuryanov), rector of the Michael the Archangel Cathedral in Uralsk; Archimandrite Sergius (Karamyshev), dean of the Astana church district; Hieromonk Gennady (Burdyuzha), secretary of the Kostanay Diocese; Hieromonk Moses (Patrikeev), head of the Public Relations Department of the Karaganda Diocese; Hierodeacon Athanasius (Kozel); Deacon Ioann Churkin; and Hierodeacon Sophonius (Mazurenko).

Praying in the altar were: Bishop Chrysant of Chimkent and Turkestan; Bishop Benjamin of Talgar, vicar of the Astana Diocese; and Archimandrite Anthony (Soloviev), dean of the South Kazakhstan church district.

Participants in the service included: Abbess Lyubov (Yakushkina) and the sisters of the Iveron-Seraphim Convent; Abbess Marionilla (Pomelnikova) of the Znamensky-Abalatsky Peter and Paul Convent in Semipalatinsk; Abbess Varvara (Morozova) of the Intercession Monastery in Uralsk (Uralsk Diocese); Abbess Olympiada (Salopeko) of the Monastery of the Nativity of Theotokos in Karaganda (Karaganda Diocese); Nun Sebastiana (Plotnikova), abbess of the Monastery in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God "In Search of the Lost" in Astana; Nun Seraphima (Bolibok), abbess of the Peter and Paul Monastery in Pavlodar (Pavlodar Diocese); monastics from the Metropolitan District of Kazakhstan who arrived to participate in the educational conference; staff of the Almaty Diocesan Administration; and parishioners of the church.

The hymns of the Liturgy were performed by the choir of the Sophia Cathedral under the direction of O. Usoltseva.

The communion verse sermon was delivered by Hieromonk Gennady (Burdyuzha).

At the end of the service, the Head of the Metropolitan District addressed the gathered with a word of edification.

The hierarch sprinkled the faithful with holy water.

"We know that eternal life is achieved through love for God and love for one's neighbor, but the Lord Himself has revealed to us another great truth: the divine food—the holy life-giving Mysteries of Christ, the pure Body and Blood of our Savior—leads a person to the Kingdom of Heaven. Participation in the sacrament of Communion is a source of virtue and an effective means of deliverance from sin. The Lord Jesus Christ warns us: 'Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His Blood, you have no life in you' (John 6:53). It is impossible, by merely observing from the outside, to feel those gracious gifts, to receive the consolation and help from the Lord, which are bestowed upon a believer through the proper observance of fasting, frequent visits to the house of God, and participation in the sacraments. Personal spiritual experience cannot be replaced by any efforts of the mind, exertion of will, or attentiveness of the senses, for 'Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him' (1 Cor. 2:9). 'Taste and see that the Lord is good!' (Ps. 34:8), the Church of Christ calls us with the words of the Psalmist David to partake in the true, genuine spiritual life." From the sermon of Metropolitan Alexander.
