Bishop Vianor Performed the Monastic Tonsure of a Cleric of the Urals Diocese

On August 18, 2024, in Uralsk, on the eve of the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, after the All-Night Vigil in the Holy Transfiguration Cathedral, Bishop Vianor of Uralsk and Atyrau performed the monastic tonsure of Deacon Artemy Rybalkenko, a cleric of the Archangel Michael Cathedral in Uralsk.

Praying during the tonsure were: Archbishop Antony (Moskalenko), Rector of the Archangel Michael Cathedral in Uralsk, Archimandrite Feodosy (Kuryanov); cleric of the Pokrovsky Convent in Uralsk, Archimandrite Dionisy (Kozyulev); Dean of the Uralsk District, Protopriest Vladimir Garasim; Dean of the Priuralsk District, Protopriest Vasily Kroyitor; cleric of the Pokrovsky Convent, Archdeacon Vasily (Kryukov); Abbess of the Pokrovsky Convent, Igumenia Varvara (Morozova), and the city’s clergy.

The one tonsured received the name Arsenius, in honor of Saint Arsenius, Archbishop of Kerkyra. After the tonsure, the ruling hierarch of the Urals Diocese addressed the newly tonsured Hierodeacon Arsenius with words of spiritual counsel.
