On Sunday, Metropolitan Alexander Celebrated the Liturgy at the Representation of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District in Moscow

On August 25, 2024, the 9th Sunday after Pentecost and the post-feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord.

Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Holy Martyrs Faith, Hope, Love, and Sophia at the Patriarchal Metochion of Moscow, the Representation of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District.

Serving alongside His Eminence were: Hieromonk Agafangel (Gagua), a cleric of the Representation, Doctor of Medical Sciences and Professor; Hieromonk Antony (Drobyazko), Assistant to the Head of the Metropolitan District; Deacon Arseniy Grigoryan, Head of the Department of Graduate Studies at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius Institute for Postgraduate and Doctoral Studies; and clerics of the metochion.

Present at the Liturgy were: Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, N.V. Parshikova; employees of the Representation, benefactors of the Patriarchal Metochion, and parishioners of the church.

The liturgical hymns were performed by the church choir under the direction of Anna Rozhnova.

The Liturgy concluded with the magnification of the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord.

The Head of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District congratulated the clergy, monastics, and laity on the Sunday and the post-feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, and then addressed those gathered with an archpastoral sermon.
