October 27, 2024 – the 18th Sunday after Pentecost, the commemoration of the Holy Fathers of the Seventh Ecumenical Council.
Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Holy Martyrs Faith, Hope, Love, and their mother Sophia at the Patriarchal Compound in Moscow – the Representation of the Kazakhstani Metropolitan District.
Serving with the archpastor were the rector of the Church of the Holy Martyrs Faith, Hope, Love, and their mother Sophia, Hieromonk Anthony (Drobyazko), Protopriest Pavel Vishnevsky, Protopriest Andrei Pavlenko, Candidate of Theology, Doctor of Medicine, Professor Igumen Agafangel (Gagua); Hieromonk Victorin (Aseev), Hieromonk Cherubim (Levin), Deacon Anatoly Ledenev, and Deacon Roman Frolov.
The choir of the church, under the direction of Anna Rozhnova, sang the liturgical hymns.
Praying during the service were staff members of the Representation of the Kazakhstani Metropolitan District, parishioners of the church, pilgrims, teachers, and students of the Sunday school.
Protopriest Pavel Vishnevsky delivered the sermon after the communion verse.
At the conclusion of the Liturgy, Metropolitan Alexander addressed those gathered with an edifying message on the significance of the Seventh Ecumenical Council in the life of the Church of Christ.
