On November 12, 2024, the visit of the relics of Blessed Matrona of Moscow concluded in the Ust-Kamenogorsk Diocese.
From September 28 to November 12, 2024, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, the sacred relics and a portion of the vestment of Blessed Matrona, venerated by millions of Orthodox believers worldwide, traveled across the boundaries of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District.
The reliquary containing the relics of Blessed Matrona was brought to the St. Andrew’s Cathedral, where it was greeted by clergy and numerous faithful.
The arrival of this revered Orthodox relic to the “Capital of the Rudny Altai” served as a spiritual gift to the faithful, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Astana and Almaty Diocese and the upcoming 15th anniversary of the canonical status of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District.
In response to a request from Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, His Holiness granted his patriarchal blessing for the relics of Blessed Matrona to be brought to various diocesan centers for prayerful veneration and spiritual strengthening of the faithful in Kazakhstan.
The visit of the relics was supported by the public foundation “Apostle.”
During the time the relics were present, more than 21,000 people paid their respects to the holy relics of the blessed saint of Christ.
