From February 21 to 26, 2025, with the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, a group of students and teachers from the Central Sunday School visited Astana and Karaganda.
As part of the International Creative Festival “Kazakhstan Pushkiniana”, the guests presented a literary and musical composition titled “The Soul in the Sacred Lyre,” dedicated to the life and works of Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin.
The children were accompanied on the trip by the director of the Central Sunday School, G.V. Cherepanova, teachers V.N. Popov, M.V. Privalova, T.N. Remizova, Hierodeacon Athanasius (Kozel), and the director’s assistant L.L. Brazhnikova.
In the capital of Kazakhstan, the students from Almaty performed in the main concert hall of the Spiritual and Cultural Center of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District, named after the Equals-to-the-Apostles Cyril and Methodius. At the conclusion of the artistic program, Archimandrite Sergius (Karamyshev), the Dean of Astana’s parishes, warmly thanked the young performers for their engaging, meaningful, and vibrant performance.
The students of the Central Sunday School also had the opportunity to visit the holy sites and landmarks of the country’s capital.
During their visit to Karaganda, the guests from the Southern Capital presented their creative program to the students, teachers of the Sunday School, and parishioners of the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross.
