Pupils of the Nevsky sports club won eleven medals at the Republican freestyle wrestling tournament among youths

On June 17-18, 2024, the Republican freestyle wrestling tournament among senior and junior boys took place in Almaty.

With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, pupils of the sports club in the name of the Holy Blessed Prince Alexander Nevsky at the St. Nicholas Cathedral of the southern capital took part in the competition. The head and coach of the club is Deacon Alexander Voronin.

The event was attended by juniors from Almaty and the Alma-Ata region, who performed in several weight categories.

At the end of the tournament, the guys from the Nevsky club took prizes. The winners were:

• Feshchenko Nazar, Ramazan Zhakyp, Vyskrebov Stepan – gold medal;

• Voronin Ioann, Feshchenko Bogdan, Sabirov Ratmir, Khadirov Ibrahim – silver medal;

• Alexey Sobolev, Ismatulla Khadirov, Nikolay Tikhomirov – bronze medal.

Earlier, at the Republican freestyle wrestling tournament, held on June 11-12, Stepan Vyskrebov, a student of the Nevsky sports club, won a gold medal.
