An international online quiz “Over the Gospel,” organized by the Commission for Educational Ministry of the Astana and Almaty Diocese, was held

On October 6, 2024, with the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, an online quiz titled “Over the Gospel” was held.

The event, organized by the Commission for Educational Ministry of the Astana Diocese, saw participation from students of Sunday schools, representatives of youth clubs, and students from secular educational and cultural institutions from Kazakhstan and Russia.

The intellectual competition took place in two subgroups: Sunday schools and youth clubs. A total of 22 teams participated in the internet quiz (5 teams from parish youth clubs and 17 from Sunday schools, general education schools, and lyceums).

The quiz questionnaire included tasks based on the Gospel narrative. In connection with World Animal Day, celebrated on October 4, several tournament tasks tested knowledge of fauna and flora.

Based on the results of the intellectual competition, the following teams were recognized as winners and prize-winners:

Subgroup “Sunday Schools”

1st Place:

• “Radost Moya” (St. Seraphim of Sarov Church, Chapayevo Village, Almaty Region, Kazakhstan)

• “Blagovest” (Annunciation Cathedral, Pavlodar, Kazakhstan)

• “Peresvet” (Combined team of Sunday schools, Bryansk, Russia)

• “Vera, Nadezhda, Lyubov” (Iveron-Seraphim Cathedral, Ekibastuz, Kazakhstan)

• “Zernyshki Very” (Combined team of Sunday schools, Kerch, Republic of Crimea)

• “Radost Very” (St. Sebastian and Magdalene Church, Petropavlovsk, Kazakhstan)

• “Uglezhogi” (Kazan Church, Uglyanets Village, Voronezh Region, Russia)

2nd Place:

• “Kristall” (St. Vladimir Church, Aktobe, Kazakhstan)

• “Bozhi Deti” (Holy Trinity Church, Sharapovo Village, Moscow Region, Russia)

• “Novoye Pokolenie” (Ascension Cathedral, Petropavlovsk, Kazakhstan)

3rd Place:

• “Stanichniki” (St. Michael the Archangel Church, Presnovka Village, North Kazakhstan Region, Kazakhstan)

• “Maly Radonezh” (All Saints Church, Petropavlovsk, Kazakhstan)

• “Pokrov” (St. Eleutherius of Rome Church, Stepnogorsk, Akmola Region, Kazakhstan)

1st Place:

• “Mikhaylovtsy” (St. Michael the Archangel Church, Maykop, Republic of Adygea, Russia)

• “Galileya” (Blessed Xenia of St. Petersburg Church, Konaev, Kazakhstan)

2nd Place:

• “Skif” (Iveron-Serafimov Cathedral, Ekibastuz, Kazakhstan)

3rd Place:

• “Vostok-Express” (Vladimir Church, Chemolgan Station, Almaty Region, Kazakhstan)
