On November 10, 2024, with the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, an online quiz titled “Western European Countries” took place, involving teams of schoolchildren and students from Kazakhstan, Russia, Lithuania, and Latvia.
The event focused on the history and contemporary aspects of Christianity within the cultural and geographical region of Western Europe, which encompasses a group of states united by political or cultural-geographical characteristics.
Nineteen teams participated in the intellectual competition (7 from parish youth clubs and 12 from Sunday and general education schools and lyceums). The quiz included questions testing knowledge of the ethno-confessional composition of the population of Western European countries, the history and culture of the region, as well as questions on the foundations of Orthodox culture.
