On November 17, 2024, in Karaganda, with the blessing of Archbishop Sebastian of Karaganda and Shakhtinsk, the XXIV Sebastian Readings took place in the Mining Capital.
The theme of the annual forum was: “80th Anniversary of the Great Victory: Memory and Spiritual Experience of Generations.”
The conference, chaired by the ruling bishop of the Karaganda Diocese, included participation from: the head of the Karaganda Diocesan Public Relations Department Hieromonk Moses (Patrikeev), the dean of the Abay Church District Archpriest Vladimir Freigang; staff of the diocesan administration, deans, heads of diocesan departments, rectors and clergy of churches, monastics, and laity, as well as representatives of parish youth clubs of the “Mining Capital.”
The event was preceded by a common prayer, after which Archbishop Sebastian addressed the attendees with a welcoming speech.
Next, the head of the diocesan department for religious education and catechism, Archpriest Akhiya Rakhimzhanov, announced the agenda and introduced the speakers.
