On April 13, 2025, in celebration of the Feast of the Entrance of the Lord into Jerusalem, and with the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, two charitable events—White Flower and From Heart to Heart—were held on the grounds of the Cathedral of Saint Nicholas in Almaty.
The events were organized by the Commission for Social Ministry of the Astana and Almaty Diocese, headed by Protopriest Vyacheslav Pugachev.
The purpose of these events was to raise funds for the crisis center House for Mothers, which began operating in November 2013 with the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander. The House for Mothers provides psychological support, housing, meals, medicine, hygiene products, clothing, and footwear to pregnant women and mothers with children who find themselves in difficult life situations.
During the charity events, the faithful were invited to exchange white flowers, small bouquets of willow branches, and handcrafted items made by members of the diocesan Sisterhood of Mercy for a voluntary donation.
All guests were offered baked goods and hot tea.
The organizers extend their heartfelt gratitude to all who took part in these charitable initiatives.
