The Orthodox volunteer movement Seraphim was established in August 2023 with the blessing of the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan.
The Orthodox volunteer movement attracts individuals who are committed to the Church, showcasing the importance of spiritual growth and involvement in church activities through their good works. Seraphim is a group of active Orthodox youth whose example and participation in church life and among parishioners promote the ideals of Orthodox volunteerism. Orthodox volunteerism encompasses not only serving God but also fostering a compassionate attitude toward those facing difficult life situations and a readiness to help those in need.
Church social service holds great value for both the Church and society. Within the ranks of Seraphim are young people aged 18 to 35 who, looking beyond their own interests, are willing to develop qualities like compassion and kindness, offering help and support across various areas. The projects implemented by the Seraphim volunteer movement are diverse, with some requiring a high level of responsibility and engagement.
