(1885 - 1942) – Martyr
Commemoration on the first Sunday starting from February 7 (January 25 O.S.) in the Assembly of New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia.
Saint Martyr Irina was born in 1885.
In 1940, she was sentenced to eight years in labor camps.
In 1942, Irina Lavrentyevna was arrested in the camp in connection with the group case of the Venerable Martyr Nun Evdokia (Andrianova) and on April 20 of the same year, she was sentenced to execution by shooting. The sentence was soon carried out.
The day of her martyrdom was April 7/20, 1942.
She was canonized among the saints of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia by the Jubilee Bishops' Council of the Russian Orthodox Church in 2000 for general church veneration.
