(1874 - 1937) – protopriest, hieromartyr
Commemoration on December 2 (November 19, O.S.), in the Assemblies of New Martyrs and Confessors of the Russian Church.
He was born in Mordovia in 1874. Deciding to follow the spiritual path, he completed theological seminary and was ordained as a priest. Later, he was elevated to the rank of protopriest.
On July 19, 1937, Father Konstantin was convicted and sentenced to 5 years of exile in Kazakhstan, after which he was transported to the village of Mayskoye in the Beskaragay district of Pavlodar region. Like the hieromartyr Ioann Malinovsky, Protopriest Konstantin worked at the Mayskoye mine.
On November 25, 1937, his exile was interrupted by arrest, and his case was joined with the group case of Archimandrite Grigory (Rebeza) and others in the city of Pavlodar, 1937. To all accusations of counter-revolutionary activities in the village of Mayskoye, Father Konstantin responded, "I did not engage in counter-revolutionary work while in exile."
On December 1, 1937, Protopriest Konstantin Mikhaylovsky was convicted by a troika of the NKVD for the East Kazakhstan region and sentenced to the highest measure of punishment. At 2 a.m. on December 2, Father Konstantin was executed by shooting.
His place of burial is unknown.
Protopriest Konstantin Mikhaylovsky was glorified among the saints of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia of the 20th century by the Hierarchical Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church in 2000.
