(1886 - 1937) – priest, hieromartyr
He was born in 1886 in the village of Shershevskoye, Perevozsky Uyezd, Nizhny Novgorod Province.
He served as a priest in his native village.
In 1928, he was arrested and exiled to the city of Buzuluk.
In 1935, he was convicted by the Special Council of the NKVD in Moscow on charges of anti-Soviet propaganda and sentenced to three years in a labor camp. He was sent to Karlag.
On September 19, 1937, he was arrested in Karlag "... for refusal to work, participation in religious gatherings, and agitational activities among the population." He did not plead guilty to the charges.
By the decision of the troika of the NKVD for the Karaganda region on November 31, 1937, he was sentenced to the highest measure of punishment - execution.
He was executed on November 2, 1937. His burial place is unknown.
On April 28, 1989, he was posthumously rehabilitated by the regional Prosecutor's Office and the KGB Department of the Karaganda region for the 1937 repressions.
He was canonized among the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia by the Hierarchical Council of the Russian Orthodox Church in August 2000.
