(? - 1918) – Protopriest, Hieromartyr
Commemoration in the Assembly of New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia on September 16 (September 3, O.S.).
Father Sergei was listed in the registry of the 50th Infantry Belostok Regiment in the city of Sevastopol for the year 1905. It can be assumed that Father Sergei regularly served as a military chaplain or in disciplinary battalions.
His last place of service was the Church of the Transfiguration of the Lord, which served the Ust-Kamenogorsk Disciplinary Company. The church was located in the disbanded Ust-Kamenogorsk fortress and occupied a space for 300 people on the second floor of a stone barracks (now the brotherhood building of the Ust-Kamenogorsk Holy Trinity Monastery).
In 1918, when the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk was temporarily taken over by the Bolsheviks, Protopriest Sergei Fenomenov was executed by them in front of his family (his wife and three sons). This occurred on the Commandant's Island, located opposite the fortress, where Father Sergei lived with his family. A guard was placed by his body, preventing anyone from approaching. After three days, the body was secretly removed to an unknown location.
He was rehabilitated under the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan on April 14, 1993.
He was canonized among the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia by a decree of the Holy Synod on December 27, 2000.
