(1885 - 1937) – Priest, Hieromartyr
Commemoration on December 2 (November 19 old style), in the Assembly of New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia.
Born in 1885 in the city of Ryazhsk, Ryazan Province. He graduated from the Ryazan Teacher's Seminary and served in holy orders since 1916, residing in Moscow.
On February 19, 1935, Father Alexander was exiled for 5 years to Kazakhstan. He lived for more than two years at the May Mine in the Beskargai District of Pavlodar Region, after which he was arrested on November 25, 1937, along with other clergymen exiled to the May Mine. Father Alexander was accused of counter-revolutionary agitation and sentenced to execution.
The sentence was carried out on December 2, 1937.
Father Alexander Mishutin was glorified among the saints of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia of the 20th century by the Bishops' Council of the Russian Orthodox Church in 2000.
