October 25, 2023 – The Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, congratulated people of Kazakhastan.
"This day is marked by a significant event in the recent history of Kazakhstan—the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Kazakhstan in 1990. Over the years of independence, our country has established a crucial foundation for state development—creating conditions for economic growth, preserving national culture, peace, and harmony. The citizens of Kazakhstan have regained the freedom to profess their religious beliefs, to build temples and mosques, and to educate the younger generation in faith.
Our country has shown the world an example of intercivilizational, interreligious, and interethnic dialogue. This is evidenced by the unique forum held in the capital of the Republic—the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which can rightfully be called an effective dialogue platform for solving global problems of countries and peoples. The Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan will continue to contribute to the development of the spiritual and cultural life of our people, to the preservation of traditions and the enhancement of moral values in society. On this festive day, I wish you all peace, health, prosperity, and success in your endeavors," stated the head of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District.
The head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan also sent congratulations on Constitution Day to the President of the country K.-Zh.K. Tokayev, the state leadership, parliamentarians, and regional and city mayors.
