Congratulatory Message from Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan on the 30th Anniversary of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan

On March 1, 2025, the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation in Astana hosted the opening ceremony of the jubilee year of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan. Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan sent a congratulatory message marking this historic occasion to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev, who also serves as Chairman of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.

The message states:

“For 30 years, the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan has achieved significant results in integrating ethnic groups into a united nation, embodying the ideals of spiritual cohesion and interethnic harmony, fostering and strengthening patriotism.

The Assembly, unparalleled in the world, has become a full-fledged entity within Kazakhstan’s political and social framework, a symbol of mutual understanding, respect, and friendship among the peoples of the country, and a true institution of public diplomacy.

In one of your addresses, you said: ‘Peace and harmony should be perceived not only as state ideology but also as an integral part of our public and personal lives and professional activities. They should not be empty slogans but a daily commitment of every citizen.’

In its peacemaking, cultural, and social-humanitarian mission, the Orthodox Church stands in solidarity with the efforts of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, aimed at fostering peace, unity, and the affirmation of traditional spiritual and moral values in society.”

Metropolitan Alexander wished Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev and the members of the Assembly health, strength, and blessed success in their endeavors for the prosperity of Kazakhstan.
