Greeting of the Head of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District on the Occasion of Nauryz Meyramy

Greeting of the Head of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District on the Occasion of Nauryz Meyramy

In accordance with ancient traditions, Nauryz Meyramy is celebrated in Kazakhstan from March 21 to 23. Since 2001, it has held the status of a national holiday. Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, extended his greetings to the people of Kazakhstan on this occasion:

Nauryz is a celebration of spring renewal and abundance, unity and friendship, and it holds a special place in the lives of the people of Kazakhstan.

For many centuries, people of various nationalities living across the Great Steppe have associated this day with reflecting on past achievements and making plans for the future. Nauryz inspires our people to acts of kindness and mercy, and for this reason, it will always remain a symbol of peace, friendship, and solidarity among the citizens of our country.

Today, Nauryz plays an important unifying role in the life of our society and is equally cherished by all Kazakhstanis.

On this festive and joyful day, I wish all of you health, well-being, success in your labors, and to our common home – blessed Kazakhstan – peace and prosperity.

The Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan sent greetings on the occasion of Nauryz Meyramy to the President of Kazakhstan K.-J. K. Tokayev, to the country’s leadership, parliamentarians, and akims of the regions and cities.
