Congratulatory Message from the Head of the Metropolitan District on the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan

May 1, 2025 – Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan. The Head of the Orthodox Church in Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, extends his heartfelt congratulations to the people of the country on this national holiday:

This bright spring holiday, symbolizing unity, friendship, and the cohesion of the people living in our country, has become one of Kazakhstan’s most significant celebrations.

For centuries, the Great Steppe has preserved the traditions of peaceful coexistence among representatives of various ethnic groups and religions. Today, our country continues to exemplify interfaith and interethnic harmony.

In one of his addresses, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev, remarked: “The key achievements of our country have been made possible thanks to the solidarity, friendship, and unity of all ethnic communities that form the single nation of Kazakhstan. Timeless values such as peace and social harmony are the foundation of the strategic course of modern Kazakhstan.”

The Orthodox Church, which – along with traditional Islam – has made a significant contribution to the historical development and cultural heritage of the Republic, continues to carry out its noble mission, helping to preserve and strengthen peace and well-being in our common home – the blessed land of Kazakhstan.

On this festive day, I wish all the people of Kazakhstan good health and success in their labors, peace, and prosperity.
