December 24, 2024. Almaty. A ceremony to present church awards to clergy and laity of the Almaty Diocese, marking their personal milestones this year, was held in the Throne Hall of the Spiritual and Cultural Center of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District named after Metropolitan Joseph (Chernov).
With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the award ceremony was presided over by Bishop Klavdian of Taldykorgan, a vicar of the Astana Diocese.
Attending the event were: O.N. Ovchinnikov, Secretary of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District and Honored Artist of Russia; Hieromonk Prokhor (Yendovitsky), Head of the Metropolitan’s Personal Secretariat; Priest Georgy Sidorov, Head of the Administrative Secretariat of the District Head; Protodeacon Roman Golovin, Head of the Metropolitan’s Protocol Service.
After an opening address, Bishop Klavdian presented the church awards.
In recognition of their efforts for the benefit of the Almaty Diocese and to commemorate significant birthdays, the following individuals received awards from the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District: N.V. Kolomoytseva was awarded the Order of Venerable Confessor Sebastian of Karaganda; A.N. Yasakov and G.N. Moiseyeva received the Medal of Confessor Nicholas, Metropolitan of Almaty; I.I. Savelyev was awarded the Medal of Holy Hieromartyr Pimen, Bishop of Verny and Semirechye; A.V. Stoyan received the Medal “Еңбек Үшін” (“For Labor”); The Medal of the Holy Martyrs Vera, Nadezhda, Lyubov, and their Mother Sophia was presented to N.V. Kononenko, O.N. Leonidova, E.V. Pospelova, L.K. Davydova, E.B. Delyan, T.Yu. Pavlova, T.T. Samosenko, T.E. Biryukova, L.G. Abuzarova, and O.S. Radionova.
The Medal “Ынталы Қызмет Үшін” (“For Diligent Service”) was awarded to Priest Valery Belyasnikov, Rector of the Church of St. John the Theologian in the village of Mynbaeva.
In recognition of contributions to the benefit of the Iveron-Seraphim Convent in Almaty, the following individuals were honored: The Medal of the Holy Martyrs Vera, Nadezhda, Lyubov, and their Mother Sophia was awarded to I.V. Nelepchenko, A.I. Yurtaikina, S.V. Sanina, A.G. Ivanova, V.S. Alferova, A.N. Patrakeeva, and D.D. Pashchenko; The Order “Еңбек Үшін” (“For Labor”) was presented to L.V. Abramenko.
Following the presentation of awards, the bishop congratulated the recipients, wishing them health, long life, and God’s grace.
On behalf of the awardees, Priest Valery Belyasnikov expressed gratitude to Bishop Klavdian.
