December 29, 2024 – Sunday of the Holy Forefathers.
Archbishop Vladimir of Petropavlovsk and Bulaevo conducted the Great Consecration of the historic Cathedral of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, which had suffered extensive damage during unprecedented floods in April of this year.
During the rite of Great Consecration and the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence was assisted by: Secretary of the Diocesan Administration Archpriest Sergey Pervushin; Rector of the Cathedral of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul Archpriest Sergey Snopkov; Rector of the Church of the Holy Martyr Methodius of Petropavlovsk Priest Mikhail Berezin; Rector of the Church of the Protection of the Mother of God in Taiynsha Priest Konstantin Bartol; Rector of St. Panteleimon’s Church in the village of Korneevka Priest Alexander Raskozhev; Priests Sergey Safoneev, Maxim Chernenko, and Pavel Orlov; Deacons Vladimir Bartol and Alexey Aleksandrovich.
The liturgical hymns were performed by the cathedral choirs under the direction of conductors O.N. Prokhorova and M.V. Bogdanova.
The rite of Great Consecration was attended by parishioners, benefactors of the cathedral, and Orthodox residents of Petropavlovsk.
After the dismissal of the Liturgy, a glorification of the Holy Forefathers was held, followed by the proclamation of Many Years to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia; the hierarchs, clergy, monastics, and faithful Orthodox Christians; the President, authorities, military, and all the people of Kazakhstan; and the name-day celebrants of the day.
His Eminence warmly thanked the rector of the newly consecrated cathedral, Archpriest Sergey Snopkov, and all those who contributed through prayer, donations, or personal effort to the restoration of the church dedicated to the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul. He presented the rector with a certificate commemorating the Great Consecration.
Archbishop Vladimir congratulated the clergy, parishioners, and pilgrims on this significant event in the spiritual life of the cathedral and the entire Petropavlovsk Diocese, after which he delivered a sermon.
