On the Feast Day of the Holy Martyr Tatiana of Rome, Metropolitan Alexander Celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Representation of the Metropolitan District of Kazakhstan in Moscow

January 25, 2025 – the Feast Day of the Holy Martyr Tatiana and those who suffered with her in Rome.

Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Holy Martyrs Faith, Hope, Charity, and their Mother Sophia, located at the Patriarchal Metochion in Moscow – the Representation of the Metropolitan District of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Concelebrating with His Eminence were the Acting Rector of the Almaty Orthodox Theological Seminary and Head of the Information Department of the Metropolitan District, Protopriest Evgeny Ivanov; the Vice Rector of the Almaty Theological Seminary, Candidate of Theology, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Hegumen Agafangel (Gagua); and the clergy of the metochion.

Praying at the service were the Chairman of the Orthodox Society “Tabernacle” and church and public figure A.V. Bugayevsky; the Secretary of the Working Group under the President of the Russian Federation on the Restoration of Religious Cultural Heritage Sites and Special Representative of the Governor of St. Petersburg M.N. Belogubova; staff of the Representation of the Metropolitan District of Kazakhstan; and parishioners of the church.

The hymns of the Liturgy were performed by the church choir and students of the parish Sunday school under the direction of Anna Rozhnova.

At the conclusion of the Liturgy, a magnification was sung in honor of Theophany and the Holy Martyr Tatiana. Metropolitan Alexander warmly congratulated parishioners of the church who bear the name of the martyred saint, wishing them good health, strength of spirit, and the abundant help of God.

The archpastor then addressed the gathered faithful with a sermon, in which he spoke about the life, witness, and martyrdom of Saint Tatiana.
