On the anniversary of the enthronement of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus', Metropolitan Alexander celebrated the Liturgy in the main church of the Kokshetau diocese

Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Resurrection Cathedral in the city of Kokshetau.

The head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan was assisted by: Archbishop Sebastian of Karaganda and Shakhty, Vicar of the Astana diocese Bishop Claudian of Taldykorgan, Bishop Chrysanthus of Chimkent and Turkestan, Vicar of the Astana diocese Bishop Veniamin of Talgar; Dean of the capital's parishes Archimandrite Sergiy (Karamyshev), Rector of the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God "Joy of All Who Sorrow" in the city of Almaty Archpriest Evgeny Vorobyov, Rector of the Church of the Archangel Michael in the city of Shchuchinsk Archimandrite Nikolay (Karpov), Rector of the Church of the Holy Great Martyr Barbara in the city of Akkol Archpriest Alexy Zholudev, Rector of the Church of the Holy Martyr Grand Duchess Elizabeth in the city of Yereimantau Archpriest Vasily Kachankin, Secretary of the Karaganda Diocese Archpriest Dmitry Patrikeyev, Rector of the Church of the Holy Martyr Eleutherius of Rome in the city of Stepnogorsk Archpriest Igor Shaporev, Key keeper of the Cathedral Archpriest Dimitry Baidek, Key keeper of the Constantine and Helen Cathedral Archpriest Sergiy Kaliyev, head of the personal secretariat of the Metropolitan Hieromonk Prokhor (Endovitsky), head of the administrative secretariat of the Head of the Metropolitan District Priest Georgy Sidorov, Protodeacon Nikolai Grinkevich, head of the protocol service of the Metropolitan Protodeacon Roman Golovin, Protodeacon Vladimir Syrovatsky; clergy of the Kokshetau and Astana dioceses.

The choir of the Dormition Cathedral of Astana sang under the direction of O. Varentsova.

The service was attended by: Apostolic Nuncio to the Republic of Kazakhstan Archbishop George Panamthundil and Deputy Akim of the Akmola Region D.E. Aitbayev.

During the litany of fervent supplication, special prayers were offered for the health and well-being of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus'.

At the end of the Liturgy, many years were proclaimed for His Holiness Patriarch Kirill; the clergy, choir and believers sang "Many Years" to the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church.

The head of the Metropolitan District delivered a sermon.

The Divine Liturgy in the Resurrection Cathedral preceded the funeral service for the newly departed Archbishop of Kokshetau and Akmola Serapion (Kolosnitsyn), who departed to the Lord on January 28. In the center of the church, a coffin with the body of the deceased hierarch was placed, covered in the ancient tradition with an archpastoral purple mantle. Parishioners of the cathedral and believers from the cities and villages of Northern Kazakhstan gathered to perform the funeral prayer and say goodbye to the deceased Archbishop Serapion. During the Liturgy, fervent funeral prayers were offered for the newly departed Bishop Archbishop.
