February 24, 2025. Sofrino, Moscow Region. Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan visited the Sofrino Artistic and Production Enterprise.
Accompanying the Head of the Metropolitan District were Igumen Agafangel (Gagua), Prorector of the Almaty Theological Seminary, Candidate of Theology, Doctor of Medical Sciences, and Professor; and Hieromonk Anthony (Drobyazko), sacristan of the church of the Kazakhstani Metropolitan District’s Representation in Moscow, dedicated to the Holy Martyrs Faith, Hope, Love, and their Mother Sophia.
The Primate of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan was welcomed by Vladimir Anatolyevich Levin, Acting General Director of Sofrino, Protopriest Vadim Polikopa, rector of the house church dedicated to St. Seraphim of Sarov at the artistic and production enterprise, along with factory employees.
Upon arrival, the archpastor, together with his entourage, visited the St. Seraphim Church, venerated its sacred objects, and spoke with the rector, who shared details about the life of the parish and the history of its construction.
Following this, Vladimir Anatolyevich Levin informed the metropolitan about the enterprise’s activities and the implementation of major pan-Orthodox projects. The hierarch conversed with the factory employees and bestowed his archpastoral blessing upon them.
In recognition of his efforts in fostering relations between the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan and the Sofrino Artistic and Production Enterprise, Metropolitan Alexander awarded Vladimir Anatolyevich Levin with the «Енбек Үшiн» (For Labors) Order, one of the highest honors of the Metropolitan District. The metropolitan also bestowed upon the Sofrino factory the Order “For Merit to the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan.”
Vladimir Anatolyevich Levin expressed his gratitude to the metropolitan and presented him with an archpastoral staff and a censer as a token of remembrance for the visit.
