Meeting of the Diocesan Council of the Aktobe Diocese Held

March 13, 2025. Aktobe. A meeting of the Diocesan Council was held at the diocesan administration building under the chairmanship of Bishop Ignatius of Aktobe and Kyzylorda.

The participants of the meeting included: Acting Dean of the Aktobe Church District and Rector of the Church of the Archangel Michael, Hieromonk Cyprian (Dakhno); Rector of the Parish of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir, Archpriest Dmitry Solovyov; Cleric of the St. Nicholas Cathedral in Aktobe, Deacon Sergius Meshkov; and the Secretary of the Diocese, Deacon Boris Fateyev.

Before the session began, Bishop Ignatius announced the agenda and regulations of the meeting.

During the working discussion, participants addressed the organization of the upcoming Church Readers’ Competition “In the Beginning Was the Word”, dedicated to the 225th anniversary of the birth of the first hierarch of the Kazakh land, Archbishop Sophonius (Sokolsky).

The council members also discussed the procedure for catechetical discussions within the diocese and reviewed options for involving Sunday school students in the liturgical life of churches in Western Kazakhstan.

The gathering further considered pressing issues of church life at both the diocesan and parish levels.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Bishop Ignatius expressed gratitude to the attendees and imparted his archpastoral blessing upon all.
