Metropolitan Peter of Orenburg and Saraktash expressed his condolences on the passing of Archbishop Anthony (Moskalenko) to the Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan; to Bishop Vianor of Uralsk and Atyrau; and to the family and loved ones of the newly departed hierarch:
“I grieve together with you over the separation from a good shepherd, whom the Lord saw fit to call into His heavenly mansions during the days of the radiant Paschal week.
For more than half a century, Vladyka Anthony lifted his hands before the throne of God, of which three decades were dedicated to caring for the Orthodox Christians of the Uralsk Diocese, where the hierarch later remained in retirement.
His entire life was filled with fervent service to the Church, care, and concern for the clergy and the flock.
Archbishop Anthony deeply loved the Orenburg region and its sacred sites. Each year, he would come to the solemn services in honor of the Nativity of the Theotokos and the Tabyn Icon, take part in the processions, and pray for the people of Orenburg.
Now we will respond with gratitude and offer our prayers for the blessed repose of his soul.
May the All-Merciful Savior grant him the eternal blessings!
Memory eternal to him!”
