Diocesan Assembly of the Clergy of the Kokshetau and Akmola Diocese Held

On May 15, 2025, in Kokshetau, a diocesan assembly of the Kokshetau Diocese was held under the chairmanship of Archbishop Varsonofy of Kokshetau and Akmola at the spiritual and educational center located at the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ.

The assembly was attended by the deans of church districts, rectors and clergy of parishes, heads of diocesan departments, and staff of the diocesan administration.

Following the prayer “Christ is Risen…,” the ruling bishop addressed those present with a word of greeting. The hierarch then presented a report highlighting key issues of church administration and the work of the diocesan departments and deaneries in various areas during the current year.

During the session, the participants noted the need to invigorate parish life and further develop spiritual education. With the blessing of Archbishop Varsonofy, a commission on church construction and legal affairs was established, with Protopriest Mark Bekkaliyev appointed as its chairman.

At the conclusion of the assembly, the archpastor expressed his gratitude to the members of the diocesan council, heads of diocesan departments, deans, and rectors for their labors for the benefit of the Orthodox Church in Kazakhstan.
