Churches of the Kazakhstan Mitropolitan District Honored the Memory of the Ever-Memorable Archbishop Eleutheriy (Kozorez)

June 4, 2025 marked the fourth anniversary of the repose in the Lord of Archbishop Eleutheriy (Kozorez).

At the house church in honor of the Feodorovskaya Icon of the Mother of God, located at the residence of the Head of the Mitropolitan District in Astana, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan served a memorial lity for the ever-memorable hierarch.

Praying during the service were: Archimandrite Sergiy (Karamyshev), Dean of the Astana Church District; clergy of the capital’s deanery; and staff of the diocesan administration of Astana.

The Head of the Mitropolitan District addressed those present with a word in which he gratefully recalled the labors of the ever-memorable bishop.

On the same day, with the blessing of Bishop Khrisanf of Chimkent and Turkestan, a panikhida was served for Archbishop Eleutheriy at the Nikolsky Cathedral in the city of Chimkent. The late archbishop is buried behind the altar of the cathedral.

Praying at the memorial service were: clergy of the Diocese of Chimkent, staff of the diocesan administration of Chimkent, and parishioners of the city churches.

At the conclusion of the lity, the clergy and faithful sang “Memory Eternal.” Flowers were laid at the burial site.
