June 6, 2025. Petropavlovsk. A regular meeting of the Diocesan Council was held at the spiritual and administrative center at the Ascension Cathedral, chaired by Archbishop Vladimir of Petropavlovsk and Bulaevo.
Participants in the meeting included: secretary of the diocesan administration, protopriest Sergiy Pervushin; rector of the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, protopriest Sergiy Snopkov; dean of the Bishkul church district, protopriest Dmitry Zhulsarin; dean of the Mamlyut church district, priest Evgeny Stolyarov; rector of the Methodius Church, priest Mikhail Berezin; sacristan of the Church of All Saints, priest Antony Shuvakin; head of the diocesan department for prison ministry, hieromonk Seraphim (Maksimov); rector of the Church of Matrona of Moscow in the village of Karakoga, priest Sergiy Propustin; economist of the Ascension Cathedral, deacon Vladimir Bartol.
The working session began with the singing of the prayer “O Heavenly King”. The meeting was opened by a report from the ruling hierarch of the Petropavlovsk and Bulaevo Diocese, Archbishop Vladimir.
During his address, the archpastor informed the attendees of his participation in the celebrations marking the 1700th anniversary of the First Ecumenical Council in the city of Almaty, as well as in the session of the Synod of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan.
Archbishop Vladimir told the members of the council about his meeting with the deputy akim of the North Kazakhstan Region, Zh.R. Zhumagulov, during which current issues of diocesan life were discussed.
A special topic of the report was the announcement of the upcoming visit to Kazakhstan by the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’.
The financial report of the diocese was then presented by chief accountant S.P. Ivanova.
During the session, the program of events dedicated to the commemoration day of the heavenly patron of Northern Kazakhstan – Hieromartyr Methodius of Petropavlovsk – was discussed. As part of the celebrations, it is planned to hold a scientific-historical conference and a festival entitled “A Steward of the Holy Faith”. The attendees also considered current issues of church life at both diocesan and parish levels.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Archbishop Vladimir thanked the members of the council and imparted to all his archpastoral blessing.
