Patronal Feast of the Church of Saint John of Kronstadt in Zhetygen

On June 14, 2025, the feast day of the righteous Protopriest John of Kronstadt, with the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, Bishop Gennady of Kaskelen, Chancellor of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of Saint John of Kronstadt in the village of Zhetygen, Almaty Region, which was observing its patronal feast.

Concelebrating with His Grace were: Protopriest Alexander Zyryanov, dean of the Ili Church District; Protopriest Vadim Alekseev, rector of the Church of Saint John of Kronstadt in Zhetygen; Protopriest Alexander Ageev, rector of the Church of Saint Seraphim in the village of Chapaevo; and Hierodeacon Athanasius (Kozel).

Praying during the service were Orthodox faithful from the village of Zhetygen, residents of neighboring settlements, and pilgrims from Almaty.

The choir of the Church of Christ the Savior in the Southern Capital sang the liturgical hymns.

At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, hymns of praise were offered to the righteous pastor of Kronstadt.

Bishop Gennady warmly congratulated the rector, clergy, and parishioners of the church on the occasion of their patronal feast, and then delivered a sermon.
