June 20, 2025. Shymkent. A meeting of the Diocesan Council of the Chimkent Diocese was held at the Kazan Church under the chairmanship of Bishop Chrysanf of Chimkent and Turkestan.
The meeting was attended by deans of church districts, rectors and clergy of parishes, heads of diocesan departments, and staff of the diocesan administration.
Before the start of the meeting, Acting Secretary of the Diocese A.B. Demin announced the agenda and regulations.
Opening the session, the ruling bishop addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.
The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of the progress of the construction of the memorial church in Lisya Balka, which is being built with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ and the approval of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan K.-Zh.K. Tokayev.
The participants discussed the stages of the project’s implementation, the completion of which is scheduled for the visit of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church to Kazakhstan in September of the current year. It is expected that Patriarch Kirill will consecrate the newly built memorial chapel and celebrate the first service in it in memory of the new martyrs and in commemoration of the victims of political repression.
During the session, those present emphasized the need to intensify parish life, develop spiritual education, and discussed matters related to Sunday school activities, as well as the construction and restoration of churches and church buildings.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Bishop Chrysanf expressed his gratitude to the members of the diocesan council, heads of diocesan departments, deans, and rectors for their dedicated work.
