Head of the Metropolitan District of Kazakhstan visits construction site of the church complex dedicated to All Saints who shone forth in the land of Kazakhstan

On July 26, 2025, in Astana, Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan visited the construction site of the ecclesiastical architectural complex, which includes the cathedral in honor of All Saints who shone forth in the land of Kazakhstan, the church of Venerable Sergius of Radonezh, and the spiritual, cultural, and educational center of the Metropolitan District of Kazakhstan.

This project, anticipated by numerous faithful, has received the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’. During the meeting between Metropolitan Alexander and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, K.-Zh.K. Tokayev, the head of state was presented with the project and expressed his support for the initiative to create an Orthodox educational center and a church in the capital. By instruction of the President of Kazakhstan, a plot of land was allocated by the capital’s authorities and officially assigned to the Metropolitan District. Currently, construction is proceeding at full pace and is being funded by benefactors.

It is expected that during the upcoming Primatial visit to Kazakhstan this September, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church will consecrate the newly built church and associated ecclesiastical facilities.

Following the inspection of the construction site, Metropolitan Alexander held a working meeting attended by: Archimandrite Sergius (Karamyshev), dean of the parishes of the capital, staff members of the Astana Diocesan Administration, and specialists responsible for the construction.

After discussing current issues, the hierarch thanked those present for their efforts and wished everyone divine assistance in the great and responsible task – the construction of the church complex whose appearance is eagerly awaited by the Orthodox residents of Astana.
