30 July 2025. Astana. Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan visited the construction site of a church architectural complex, which includes the cathedral in honor of All Saints who shone forth in the land of Kazakhstan, the church of Venerable Sergius of Radonezh, and the spiritual, cultural, and educational center of the Metropolitan District of Kazakhstan.
In the presence of the Head of the Metropolitan District of Kazakhstan, a significant event took place in the creation of the church complex – the dome structures were installed on the church in honor of Venerable Sergius of Radonezh.
During the visit to the construction site, His Eminence was accompanied by Archimandrite Sergius (Karamyshev), dean of the parishes of the capital, and assistant I. Ye. Yatsenko.
The General Director of the “Astanatransstroy” company, Sergey Yevgenyevich Baskakov, informed the archpastor about the details of the dome frame installation and the upcoming stages of the construction work. Metropolitan Alexander spoke with the engineering and construction group responsible for the development of the complex.
It is expected that during the Primatial visit to Kazakhstan in September of this year, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, will visit the educational center under construction and perform the consecration of the newly built church.
The Orthodox spiritual and educational center is being built in Astana with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and with the approval of the state authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, represented by the President of the country, K.-Zh. K. Tokayev. The construction is being carried out with the support of benefactors.
Archbishop Vladimir of Petropavlovsk consecrated the chapel in honor of Equal-to-the-Apostles Mary Magdalene and the educational center named after Bishop Veniamin (Ivanov)
