August 31, 2025. Astana. With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, the central dome and cross were installed on the church under construction in honor of St. Sergius of Radonezh.
The Sergius Church is part of the architectural complex being erected in the capital of the Republic, which also includes the Cathedral of All Saints Who Shone Forth in the Land of Kazakhstan and the spiritual, cultural, and educational center of the Kazakhstan Metropolis.
It is expected that during his forthcoming Primatial visit to Kazakhstan in September of this year, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, will visit the educational center under construction and perform the consecration of the newly built church.
The Orthodox spiritual and educational center is being built in Astana with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and with the approval of the state authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, represented by the President of the country Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The construction is being carried out with the support of benefactors.
