August 30, 2025. Almaty Region. With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, Bishop Klavdian of Taldykorgan, a vicar of the Astana diocese, consecrated a newly built chapel in honor of the Image of Christ Not Made by Hands, erected on the territory of the “Mayak” Fishing Academy.
The “Mayak” Fishing Academy is a recreational fishing base located on five islands in the delta of the Ili River in South Balkhash.
The consecration service was attended by the administration and staff of the tourist complex.
The hierarch read the prescribed prayers, after which he sprinkled the chapel with holy water and addressed all those present with words of edification.
At the conclusion of the service, Bishop Klavdian expressed gratitude to everyone who, through prayer, donations, and personal participation, contributed to the creation of the chapel, thereby bearing witness by their good deeds to the desire to serve God.
