24 September 2025. Kostanay. With the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, a meeting of the Diocesan Council of the Kostanay and Rudny Diocese was held at the administrative and spiritual and cultural center named after Bishop Timon (Rusanov).
The meeting was chaired by the secretary of the Kostanay Diocese – Hieromonk Gennady (Burdyuzha).
The following participated in the meeting: Dean of the Kostanay Church District – Priest Andrey Krutin; Dean of the Sarykol Church District – Archpriest Vitaly Kleba; Dean of the Lisakovsk Church District – Archpriest Oleg Kalmykov; Sacristan of the St John the Theologian Cathedral in the city of Rudny – Igumen Maksim (Boykov); Rector of the Holy Trinity Church in the city of Arkalyk – Igumen Sevastyan (Ovsiienko); Rector of the Church of St Nicholas in the village of Fedorovka – Archpriest Alexiy Mostovshchikov.
The meeting of the Diocesan Council was preceded by the service of a prayer for the invocation of the help of the Holy Spirit before the beginning of any endeavor.
Before starting the work, Hieromonk Gennady announced to the members of the council the agenda of the upcoming meeting concerning current issues in the life of the diocese.
During the meeting, the upcoming archpastoral visit of the temporary administrator of the diocese – Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan – was discussed, which will take place on 9–13 October as part of the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Kostanay and Rudny Diocese.
The members of the council exchanged opinions on improving the activities of spiritual and educational work in the parishes; the current activities of the diocesan departments were also analyzed.
At the end of the meeting, in recognition of his labors for the benefit of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan and in connection with his 45th birthday, the secretary of the Kostanay Diocese presented the Medal of the Holy Confessor Nicholas, Metropolitan of Almaty and Kazakhstan, to Archpriest Alexiy Mostovshchikov.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Hieromonk Gennady thanked the members of the Diocesan Council, heads of diocesan departments, deans, and rectors for their work.
