A diocesan assembly of the clergy of the Kokshetau and Akmola Diocese was held

September 25, 2025. Kokshetau. A diocesan assembly of the Kokshetau Diocese was held under the chairmanship of Archbishop Barsanuphius of Kokshetau and Akmola in the building of the spiritual and educational center at the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ.

The assembly was preceded by the celebration of the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in the city of Kokshetau, presided over by Archbishop Barsanuphius with the concelebration of diocesan clergy.

The assembly was attended by: deans of church districts, rectors and clergy of parishes, heads of diocesan departments, and staff of the diocesan administration.

After the prayer “O Heavenly King…” and the traditional greeting, the assembly was opened by Archbishop Barsanuphius. The hierarch delivered a report on the visit of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church to the Republic of Kazakhstan and His Holiness’s participation in the 8th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which took place on September 17–18 of the current year in Astana.

Further on, current issues of church life in the Kokshetau and Akmola Diocese were discussed, and a diocesan confessor and district confessors were elected.

At the conclusion of the assembly, the archbishop expressed gratitude to the members of the diocesan council, the heads of diocesan departments, deans, and rectors for their labors for the benefit of the Orthodox Church in Kazakhstan.
