September 26, 2025. On the commemoration day of the Dedication of the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Jerusalem (the so-called “Word-bearing Resurrection”), the secretary of the Kostanay Diocese, Hieromonk Gennady (Burdyuzha), celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of Saints Constantine and Helen in Kostanay.
Before the beginning of the divine service, with the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, Father Gennady performed the rite of the Lesser Blessing of the main cathedral of the diocese after major repair work.
Concelebrating with the diocesan secretary were: the sacristan of the Cathedral of Saints Constantine and Helen, Archpriest Vasily Korolev; the cleric of the cathedral, Igumen Innokenty (Pomogalov); the dean of the Sarykol Church District, Archpriest Vitaly Kleba; the sacristan of the Church of St. Nicholas in Kostanay, Archpriest Vitaly Gutsan; the dean of the Kostanay Church District and rector of the Church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in the city of Tobyl, Priest Andrey Krutin; and Deacon Eleazar Aitbakin.
Praying during the service were parishioners and benefactors of the cathedral, as well as Orthodox residents of the city of Kostanay.
The choir of the main cathedral of the Kostanay Diocese sang under the direction of T. Zhebrak.
At the end of the service, the diocesan secretary congratulated the clergy and parishioners on this significant event in the spiritual life of the Cathedral of Saints Constantine and Helen and delivered a sermon.
