Hieromonk Seraphim (Petrovsky), Sacristan of the Church of St. Nicholas at the National Medical Center for Otorhinolaryngology, Has Reposed in the Lord

On October 5, 2025, at the age of 54, Hieromonk Seraphim (Petrovsky), sacristan of the Church of St. Nicholas at the National Medical Research Center for Otorhinolaryngology of the Federal Medical–Biological Agency (FMBA) of Russia, founder and head of the Far Eastern Center at MPDA, reposed in the Lord.

On October 9, the funeral service for the departed pastor was held at the Intercession Church of the Moscow Theological Academy. The funeral was led by the academy’s instructor, Hieromonk Feodor (Yulaev).

Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, Head of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan, sent condolences to the relatives and loved ones of the departed. “For more than twenty years, Hieromonk Seraphim served at the altar of God, offering the Holy Eucharistic Sacrifice ‘for all and for everything.’ A talented and erudite man, he taught at the Moscow Theological Academy and Seminary, worked in the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate and in the Synodal Youth Department of the Russian Orthodox Church. His vivid sermons and teachings are remembered by the parishioners of the Church of the Holy Martyrs Faith, Hope, Love, and Sophia – the Moscow representation of the Kazakhstan Metropolitan District – and of the house church of St. Nicholas at the National Medical Research Center for Otorhinolaryngology of the FMBA of Russia. The late father was respected by his fellow clergymen and loved by the faithful. Let us earnestly pray to the Savior of the world for the repose of the newly departed pastor in the heavenly mansions – where there is no sickness, no sorrow, no sighing, but life everlasting,” said the Head of the Metropolitan District in his message.

May the Kingdom of Heaven and eternal rest be granted to the newly departed Hieromonk Seraphim.
