On October 19, 2025 — the 19th Sunday after Pentecost and the commemoration day of Saint Thomas the Apostle, one of the Twelve disciples of the Savior — Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Holy Martyrs Faith, Hope, Love, and Sophia at the Patriarchal Metochion in Moscow — the Representation of the Metropolis of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Concelebrating with His Eminence were: Hieromonk Agafangel (Gagua), Vice-Rector of the Almaty Theological Seminary, Candidate of Theology, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor; Archpriest Pavel Vishnevsky and the clergy of the metochion. The deacon’s rank was headed by Protodeacon Nikolai Grinkevich, a cleric of the Ascension Cathedral in Almaty.
The choir of the church sang under the direction of Anna Rozhnova.
At the conclusion of the Liturgy, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan congratulated the faithful on the commemoration day of Saint Thomas the Apostle and delivered an archpastoral homily.
Metropolitan Alexander sprinkled the congregation with holy water.
