On 4 December 2025, Almaty. On the Twelve-feast of the Entry of our Most Holy Lady Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary into the Temple, the leadership and staff of the Public Foundation “ELEOS-MEIRIM”, headed by its President Valery Mikhailovich Kapsamun, prayed at the Divine Liturgy in the Cosmas and Damian church of the Southern capital.
The Liturgy was celebrated by the rector of the church, Priest Kirill Shklyar, concelebrated by Priest Bogdan Boyko and Deacon Ioann Churkin.
The male ensemble of the Metropolitan choir sang (the conductor is an Honoured Artist of Russia, a member of the Church-Public Council under the Patriarch of Moscow and all Rus’ for the development of church singing).
Prayers were offered at the service for the newly departed Protopriest Georgiy Chistyakov, who for nearly three decades headed the Cosmas and Damian parish.
At the conclusion of the Liturgy, before the icon of the Entry of the Most Holy Theotokos into the Temple, a glorification of the feast was performed. Afterwards, the rector conveyed to the worshippers the blessing of Metropolitan Alexander of Astana and Kazakhstan, congratulated the President and staff of the “ELEOS-MEIRIM” Foundation and the faithful on the Theotokos Twelve-feast, and delivered a homily.
Following the festive service, the President of the Public Foundation “ELEOS-MEIRIM”, V.M. Kapsamun, familiarised himself with the construction works of the brick church dedicated to the holy unmercenaries and wonderworkers Cosmas and Damian, which is being built with the active support of the organisation he leads, with the blessing of the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Kazakhstan.
